Glass-Based Bandpass Filters for New Radio (NR) <i>K</i>-/<i>Ka</i>-Band Communications

Highly miniaturized substrate integrated coaxial (SIC) bandpass filters (BPFs) are presented for new radio (NR) communications. They based on glass-integrated two-post SIC resonators and mixed electromagnetic (EM) couplings that contribute to two poles one transmission zero (TZ) the overall BPF transfer function. The concept can be extended high-order quasi-elliptic configurations shaped by $2N$ notation="LaTeX">$N$ TZs readily cascading cavities through inter-stage lines (TLs). A high-frequency glass-based integration platform is explored as a low-loss mechanism. To practically validate concept, three prototypes were designed, manufactured, tested. include a: 1) two-pole/one-TZ with passband centered at 26 GHz, fractional bandwidth (FBW) of 21%, TZ 32 GHz; 2) 26.7 FBW 11%, 23.6 3) four-pole/two-TZ 24 31.3 GHz.
